All the Olympiad Exams (To be held here, in our college only)

National Cyber Olympiad Exam (NCO) on 30th January 2018, Tuesday

NCO i.e. National Cyber Olympiad is an exam conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). These are 3 level examinations (all MCQs), which are conducted all over the India at the same time. Selections in such exams are facilitated by scholarships for higher education, certificates and cash awards of Rs. 1 Lakh maximum.

[SOF is a Registered Not-For-Profit organization popularizing and promoting Science, Mathematics, English, Computers and IT education among school children, established by leading academicians, scientists and media personalities. The Science Olympiad Foundation has been striving for over two decades to meet its vision through innovative activities and use of IT in learning process that involving students and staff across the country.

The role of SOF has been much appreciated over these last few years, so much so that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (Govt. of India), The British Council, Star Sports, the Mathematics Today Group, etc have volunteered to support SOF's various programs.

SOF is pivotal in conducting various Olympiad exams in IT, Science, Math etc to find and nurture the talents among students. Staff and team of SOF train the selected students and send them for international competitions in these fields.]

NCO is a platform wherein students are tested for their expertise in field of computers and IT. Students from outside schools (at any standard) can also participate here for NCO exam. Such parents / students must contact Mrs. Swati Randive (Sr Teacher, Dept. of Physics) between 1 pm – 6 pm for details and enrollment.

Question papers are separate for each class/Std. Students are required to answer 50 questions in 1 hour, all objectives (MCQs)
Syllabus for STD XI
Section – 1 :
Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Section – 2 : History, Generation and Types of Computers, Working with OS, Input, Output & Memory Devices, Data Representation, Basics of IT, Internet Services and Protocols, HTML, MS-Word, MS-Excel, Networking, Viruses and Ant viruses, Introduction to C++ till Data Structures.
Section – 3 : Higher Order Thinking Questions - Syllabus as per Section – 2.
Questions are based on Windows 7 and MS-Office 2010.

Syllabus for STD XII
Section – 1 :
Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Section – 2 : Programming in C++, Database Concepts, SQL, Boolean Algebra, MS-Word, MS-Excel, HTML, Networking & Topologies, Network Security Concepts, Cyber ethics, Viruses and Antiviruses, Open Source Terminologies.
Section – 3 : Higher Order Thinking Questions - Syllabus as per Section – 2.
Questions are based on Windows 7 and MS-Office 2010.
